Some good news! The result of the brain scan/abdominal ultrasound/and various other recent tests/procedures is… I do not have a brain tumour, but I do have a nice sized gallstone for goodness sake. Just for clarification-the gallstone was not located in my brain, but in the pelvic area. Although there is a small brain and no nasty growths in that zone, I will be seeing a neurologist. I was not able to pass the sobriety test in the oncologist’s office on Monday. The one where you walk with one foot in front of the other.I kept tipping over, well not over, but lurching to the side. And no, I have never been asked to take that test before! You are mistaken, you have never seen me on COPS. The battle against cancer is that many of the medications and potions used to kill cancer numb the nerves that send information to the brain. Yes, you know which brain, the small senior one . I am also experiencing a bad case of Chemo-fog. I seem to be moving from mild confusion to complete and utter mental disorder. As it is in the public’s best interest, I have withdrawn from operating a motor vehicle. One final dose of Taxol is left on my drug agenda, and we hope that this is just a temporary problem. The oncologist has suggested that I take advantage of some of the programs which are offered at the CC which will help with the stress and depression. Going to the pre chemo appointment every three weeks ,and feeling like a raving hypochondriac, is upsetting me no end. All of the Purdy’s chocolates and Sanders Hot Fudge Sauce (yes Windsor folks, I was able to score through one of my neighbours who was in Detroit last week)are not doing the endorphin lifting job.I have added intense colouring and doodling to my personal, self directed, in home therapy program. It really does help me zone out on a whole other level. That sounds so sixties doesn’t it ? The results might well be worth a look at by a psychologist when this cancer adventure is done. I am learning about zen-tangles, mandalas(not Nelson) and how to take doodling up a notch with other materials incorporated into the design. If I have successfully worked out how to put pictures into this blog, I might share my results or would it be called a portfolio ? at some later date . We are always trying to stay positive here at the home of Senor and Mrs. Poodela. Therefore we are going for the ten year passport option when we do Senor’s renewal next month.Short blog today. Time for my nap.
P.S. Do see if my sidebar pictures work
