I have received notice from Word Press that they have processed my “automatic” payment for the renewal of the blog service for another year. I am not sure if I am able to undo this extension and have my credit card adjusted, so I guess I better keep on writing with the hope that you will keep on reading! I like to get value for my money. What a stimulus for a blogger. Being cheap.
July 9th is going to be a different kind of day here at the kennel. I , Poodela will be turning 490 years old. That is one old poodle. Senor has already seen that personal milestone so he is coaching me along the path to next Saturday.
I am not sure how this happened, but as I was googling around yesterday , I discovered that July 9th is National NO Bra Day in the US. Have not heard where Donald Trump stands with this one. It was started by a woman going by the name of Anastasia M Doughnuts in 2011 and has been popping up on Facebook ever since. It is an opportunity (or an excuse) not to have to wear a bra for a day). Let me tell you how much I enjoy having been given the freedom to go bra less. During radiation treatment the CC was most explicit that we not wear a bra during a period of about six weeks as wearing one would hinder the healing process (burning etc) of the radiated areas. At first, being a good Catholic dog, I felt very self-conscious and uncomfortable, but I am a gal who follows orders and now I continue to go bra less whenever possible (which is 99% of the time). I am wearing big girl silky undershirts and Jockey is my favorite. I am wearing purple right now.For some men out there I hope that you are not cringing and saying “too much information”. I picture my brother in law….Nah, maybe I am getting a kick out of it.
It turns out that there is a second national no bra day. October 13th ,which falls in the middle of Brest Cancer Awareness Month. There is no scientific proof that wearing a bra is necessary for the prevention of sagging breasts. Breasts sag as part of getting older. We wear one as that is what women do.
So next Saturday July 9th will you ladies celebrate with me ? Will you consider resisting societal pressure and let out that inner rebel in you ? Will you recognize that you are an adult free to make some choices? I, at 490 years old, who has recently undergone all kinds of medical treatment in the last two years, is definitely going to celebrate a day that will be special for me.
On the medical front, I had a bilateral mammogram last week. A medical X Ray procedure that Senor and I call the double mammy. This is just part of the post treatment follow-up. I will have the mammys with some degree of frequency in the future if I continue to follow orders. I was also able to put my hair in rollers this morning. Yes, I still have my high school rollers in the same basket they have always been stored in. What’s with that ? So today’s hairdo is another milestone of sorts. So much to celebrate. I am thankful.
