Getting Boosted

Today I wish to share a piece of personal health information with you. Yesterday I had my second booster and it bothers me that I will be expected to keep having these shots on a regular basis for the rest of my life. Next up will be the monkeypox. It is like we are in a surreal movie running around in our masks and being vaccinated on a regular basis. This old bitch is not enjoying it. (Let us all remember that I am a dog and bitch is the acceptable term) When I was growing up, back in the dark ages, booster or boosted meant a whole other thing!

Anyway, after the shot Senor and I had to wait to see if there was any sort of reaction. While in the pharmacy there was the “Wellness News”. More stuff to depress me. Here are some of the services I can look into for Senor and myself as we are getting rather bored with the regular visits to doctors, dentists (canines are collapsing from overuse) ear specialists, blood sugar testing, and on it seems to go. What follows is a list of more super seniors activities or cures that we can look into. What a treat. Someone should have warned me about getting old! It sucks.

Computer vision syndrome relief

Ankle Pain

Knee pain

Sports betting support

Hypnotherapy

Socks and insoles

A simpler life in a retirement home

Mark this on your calendars. On June 15th we are to wear PURPLE as it is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Now, I am not kidding about this one as it is a serious issue. (but I will see if I can find some t-shirts). We seem to be in the place in our lives that is step one, which probably comes before the abuse. It’s referred to as being marginalized. It drives me wild. And that’s when I can hear what the person said to me in a condescending tone. Who knows what I am missing as I am sort of deaf? Just a little… Who am I kidding it is a bit more than just a little. When those men from a far away country where English is obviously not their first language call me about my computer, or my combination Mastercard/Visa/Amazon card we have a real communication problem! And what’s this that you cannot have a Paypal account unless you have a cel phone number?

OK, now that I have gotten this off my chest, I will proceed to continue watching, over and over, the Queen having tea with Paddington the Bear. And tapping along with her spoon to the introduction of a Queen song. Wow. What a sense of humor that chick has. Hope I can get mine back. She is an inspiration. Long may she reign. ( PS -The rest of those Windsors look like no fun duds)

Hahaha!!!! We just got boosted last week as well. To heck with monkey pox-we all got smallpox shots as infants (probably well worn off by now….). I had hand foot and mouth disease when Ollie turned one. That was excruciating-and similar to this new pox. I survived and figured I can survive this one too.

But-on the bright side-just think about all those people caring about us. It’s nice to know someone will always be there concerned about our well-being. I only wish the telephone carets would not call in the wee hours of the morning. If they care so much, they could at least check the time zone they are calling, don’t you think. Otherwise we might begin to mistrust their sincerity!

It’s not for the faint-hearted, this ageing process. However it’s nice that we have the opportunity to go to Aquafit during the daytime while all those younger folk are at work!

Isn’t the Queen delightful? I love that video too! May we all be laughing and sharing marmalade sandwiches with Paddington, while rocking out to Queen!!!!

    1. Oh, indeed it is a good thing to be receiving the shot. What bothers me are the reminders of a more restricted life accompanied by body breakdown.

  4. Getting old definitely sucks! I can 100% attest to that. Thank heavens you have retained your great sense of humour!! Thanks. PS No boosters for this old chick.
